They said there would be updates to help promote or simply describe the game - we cought it, they do owe us. They owe us a blessed update and it's coming

I vowed to never buy another blizzard game after the extremely long wait and crappy job with patch 109 or 110 or whatever it was. I skimmed the preview for WoW when it was in beta and it looked like the same skill names just recycled through every game they make. Then there is the $15 a month... do you get your $15 worth in content added every month? I really doubt it but to each his own.

No business is going to please 100% of its customers.. Each game company has to stay within their own business model.. think maybe you just dont understand?

So if there are no updates do you think they are going to be worried when you cancel your subscription?...oh wait. They already have your money.

Yes but if players stop playing before "Chapter 2" comes out are they going to buy it ... some will but most dont (expansions usually sell significant less that the original game) and then what is going to support your precious servers?

Lineage players?

If we looked at treads about 1-2 months ago the major complains was "UAS" and europe lack of favor, there were few complains and many sugestions.

Since then we had the Economical crash of the game, the Lag Spikes of Europe and now the players uprise since they are bored.

Have UAS and europe lack of favor gone away?

No, only the Lag Spikes of Europe appears to been fixed (a issue that Arena Net never made public in their own site, neither its existence or its correction).

We bored and Arena Net is "hurry up" to release two areas that might make us waste a week there before they lose their interest.

A lot are talking a shoot at WoW and even if I dislike MMORPGs (player EQ2 trial of the isle and that was enough) but I see Blizzard making patchs and adding new quests and new areas, perhaps you sould look at WoW patch descriptions before you accuse Blizzard from even less game support that Arena Net.

How many new quests have Arena Net given to us ... and I mean quests I dont have to wait until I have favor to be able to recive the quest.

No, I think they are going to be worried when a fraction of the players who bought the game buy the expansion.

As long as sales create a profit, they'll continue to do what they are. People threaten to leave, but they rarely do. I'd actually rather have half the radical thinks leave the game; it would make things much less hostile and enjoyable.

More toward the topic, who said anything about reduction/end to updates? There's a strong chance the 2 new EA will be released this Wednesday when they announce the winners of the "Brand the Boss" contest. They've been throwing out updates to fix bugs, improve balance, improve pve and pvp, appease the numerous email, investigate /bug reports, etc. >.>

Wow...I didn't know you had to have favor to run the quest to find the ghost parents for the little kid in Ascalon.

Might not be a big deal to you but it negates what you're saying about ANet not adding quests.

are you guys kidding me, they have been giving you free updates such and such but yet some of you say that they arent giving us enough? who is to say that we arnt getting enough. Anet has done a good job and if you dont like it then how about you go and make us a patch every week that fixes everything that every player in the game wants fixed and/or redone

I do not want to be the jerk who does that but I feel bad for Anet because they work so hard and hardly get any complaments on their doing other then when players first start playing and get an update or two they are happy but then they play for a month and get 2 more updates only they are upset because there just isnt enough for them.

You know that now and so far they implemented 18 new quest, 11 that need favor and the other 7 avaible at any time since the game was released.

Those quests were implemented on May 11, June 15 and June 29.

However my point was that MMORPGs are doing the same, WoW added several quests over patches.

Yeah it's going to be disappointing that I'll have to wait until after school to check out the new content.

I'm ignoring alot of posts I disagree with and would like to debate over so I can just post this and go to sleep. It's such a strong urge to post over it. Arg.

The patch I'm waiting for has already been written. All they need to do is re-impliment it, and maybe take out the words "for beta weekend".

UAS is for people who want instant gratification. Personally, I view these people as spoiled whiney brats who scream ME ME ME, MINE MINE MINE!!! and then go cry when mommy says no. Oh wait, this day and age, mommy rarely says no because everyone thinks appease the little brat and he'll shut up instead of disciplining the little PITA. Apeasement is much easier in the short term, but has a worse effect long term.

Perhaps you didn't read the 6 weeks or 6 months part, or have word blindness.
As for more quests, they have added a few, maybe upto 5 since release, so on average I'd say 2 quests per month, which isn't too bad i suppose, the only problem is that these quests are usually over in less than 30 mins and not repeatable. The don't add the quantity of quests that they do in WoW or EQ2, or areas, on average EQ2 adds 3-4 new areas every 2 months, new quests or quest tweaks weekly, not to mention the live in game world events every 3 months, but I guess they have a much smaller dev team as they don't charge a monthly fee to finance a bigger dev team.

first off this game is not WoW or EQ2. it is not trying to be either, this is a game all on its own if you dont like it then dont play it. problem solved

Disagree with one another's points but in a productive non-finger pointing way. Please don't attack other people's credibility. We ARE allowed to disagree and CAN disagree without launching barrages against other's intelligence.

Free updates?

Let's put it this way, I'd rather they shove all these updates up their collective asses. All they serve to do is to cause more and more grief for general players.

When retail first came out, it was all fine and dandy, things were actually somewhat affordable.. everything is sorta attainable reasonably.. Today? I guess if you aren't part of the elite, it is time for you to quit the game and uninstall it.

Now, I do have the mindset that Blizzard sorta "sold out" on us, but heck, they exist to make money.. and you obviously don't do that by patting puppies on their heads and picking up litter on the streets to throw in the bins, but that statement you made was pretty unfair..

The spell names are the same because, hey, guess what? It is World of Warcraft! And you want to know something? I saw "Bloodlust" in Warcraft II.. Warcraft III.. and probably WoW too!

"What a bunch of uncreative losers!"

What do you suppose you would say when you see a necro cast Shadowstrike on you?

No.

No "very big update" (and its not, its just 2 new areas with quests and mobs) is going to solve the basic problems of the game, the broken economy that forces players to intensive farm and lack of incentive to keep players in the game after they completed their goals.

Both PvP and PvE players are quiting because they are bored and the game is broken and unfun ... Guild Wars idea of end game is farming grind.

Arena Net is busy digging the grave of this game, I dont think many of us will be staying for the funeral.
